I am currently fighting a custody battle and the court has allowed this to drag on and on. One thing I have noticed that is so common.
Many people either run out of emtional energy or financila means. I wish there was some way to force family courts to act fast. It is such a degrading experience and after dealing with the humiliation and trying to defend yourself against the system you have not much self confidence left. I feel so bad for some of the people I have come across that have had to give up on fighting for their kids for many reasons but it seems to me that a large majority of them had all their finances drained. I think that maybe if there were a way to find lawyers in each state that would offer to do pro bono work for people in these cases then maybe that would help.
